Overiew

Day 01 :
Day 1: Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

Arrival at Chinggis Khaan International airport and transfer to hotel, check-in.

Activies: Visit Chinggis Khaan Museum and experience traditional Mongolian music and dance performances at the Mongolian National Folk Song and Dance Ensemble

Meals: Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Hotel in Ulaanbaatar

Day 02 :
Day 2: Ulaanbaatar – Naadam festival day

Naadam Opening Ceremony around 11:00AM on July 11 at the National Stadium in Ulaanbaatar. The spectacle includes:

  • A ceremonial parade of athletes, soldiers, monks, and elders in traditional attire
  • A procession of the State Nine White Banners, sacred relics symbolizing Mongolian independence
  • Traditional music, cultural performances, and speeches from national leaders
  • A reenactment of historical scenes from Mongol empire times

Following the ceremony, the first round of Mongolian wrestling begins inside the stadium, often drawing the largest crowds and most camera lenses.

Day 03 :
Day 3: Ulaanaabatar – Baga gazriin Chuluu – 280km

The Bayanzag (Flaming cliffs) is a famous for containing exceptional dinosaur fossils in the heart of the Gobi Desert. Roy Chapman Andrews and American expedition discovered the first nests of dinosaur eggs from Bayanzag in the 1923. Their findings proved to the world that dinosaurs.

We’ll drive to Tsagaan Suvarga, known as the White Stupa. The wind has created an amazing structure. The cliffs are 30-60m high and over 400m wide facing to the east.

Day 04 :
Day 4: Baga gazriin Chuluu – Tsagaan Suvarga – 250km

We’ll drive to Tsagaan Suvarga, known as the White Stupa. The wind has created an amazing structure. The cliffs are 30-60m high and over 400m wide facing to the east.

Activites: Hiking, and cultural tours.

Day 05 :
Day 5: Tsagaan Suvarga – Yol valley – 220km

We’ll drive ahead to Yol Valley (also called Yolyn Am & Eagle valley) situated in the “Three beauties of Gobi” Mt. National Park. This green valley is one of the main highlights in the Gobi Desert and sheltered by high cliff walls and covered with wild flowers and Gobi plants.

Day 06 :
Yol valley – Khongor sand dunes- 180km

We’ll drive through the wilderness of the Gobi to the extraordinary of Khongor, which is one of the most scenic areas of the Gobi Desert. This impressive white sand dunes stretch more than 180km and highest point is around 300m known as Duut Mankhan

Activites: Hiking, camel riding, and cultural tours.

Day 07 :
Khongor sand dunes – Bayanzag – 160km

Day 08 :
Day 8: Bayanzag – Ongi – 180km

Ongi steppe, which is near to the ruined monastery of Ongi Temple along the Ongi River makes a good resting place to break a trip between the two major destinations.

Ongi temple was established in 1660 and once composed of 30 temples, 4 big Buddhism universities. It was destroyed by the communist purges of the 1930s and is being restored by a number of monks. Nowadays that one temple serves as a small museum.

Day 09 :
Day 9: Ongi - Kharkhorin – 290km

Today is an easy drive to Karakorum, the ancient capital of the Mongolian Unified Empire back to the XIII century and Erdene Zuu Monastery. Visit of the monastery and museum.

Activites: light hiking, visite museum and cultural tours.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Tourist camp.

Day 10 :
Day 10: Kharkhorin - Elsentasarkhai – 70km

After breakfast, we’ll drive to Khogno Khan, is aptly nicknamed the “mini  Gobi" due to its unique microclimate and sandy terrains. You will have the opportunity to explore this picturesque region.

Activites: Light hiking, and cultural tours.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: Tourist camp

Day 11 :
Day 11: Elsentasarkhai - Khustai National Park tourist camp – 180km

After breakfast This is the big departure from Cheketours. We leave due east for a nice stage of 100km which will allow us to make contact with the steppe and the motorcycles.

Activites: Hiking, watching wild horses and cultural tours.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Accommodation: tourist camp

Day 12 :
Day 12: Khustai - Ulaanbaatar – 100km

Return to UlaanBaatar.

Day 13: Depature
